Everything about The 2008 Alabama Crimson Tide Football Team totally explained

The 2008 Alabama Crimson Tide football team will represent the University of Alabama in the college football season of 2008-2009. The team's head coach is Nick Saban, who is entering his second year at Alabama. They play their home games at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and compete in the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference. They will try to improve upon a 7–6 record from the 2007 season.
   In early February, www.rivals.com ranked the Crimson Tide recruiting class of 2008 as #1. The class was headlined by the signing of highly-touted wide receiver Julio Jones.

Schedule

  • The Tide's Away schedule in the 2008 season has games at Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, and LSU.
  • Their Home schedule includes games against Tulane, Western Kentucky, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Arkansas State, Mississippi State, and Auburn.
  • The season opener will be against Clemson at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia, a neutral site.

Schedule Notes

  • The Alabama vs. LSU game on November 8 will mark the second time that Alabama head coach Nick Saban competes against LSU and the time Saban will return to Baton Rouge since leaving for the Miami Dolphins in December 2005.
  • The Alabama vs. Clemson game on August 30 will be the first time in several years that Alabama's first game isn't the home opener. It will also be the second straight season that Alabama will play a major team from the Atlantic Coast Conference at a neutral site.
  • The Alabama vs. Auburn game on November 29 will see the Tide attempting to end a current six game losing streak to the Tigers, it'll be the first game to be played at Bryant-Denny with Nick Saban as head coach of the Tide.
  • Of the twelve teams on the 2008 schedule, eight made bowl games in 2007.
  • Alabama's two Off Weeks will occur between the Kentucky and Ole Miss games and between the Mississippi State and Auburn games.
